Strategy & Gameplan
Gardevoir ex has remained a top-tier contender thanks to its unparalleled late-game energy acceleration and card advantage. By discarding Psychic Energy with Kirlia's Refinement and Ultra Ball in the early game, you build up a massive reserve. Once Gardevoir ex is on the board, 'Psychic Embrace' attaches as many Psychic Energy as needed to your attackers (at the cost of 2 damage counters per attachment). Attackers like Scream Tail can snipe high-value benched targets up to 160 HP, while Drifloon and Munkidori provide massive OHKO potential and damage counter manipulation.
Turn 1 Execution
Establish at least two Ralts and one supporting basic (Frillish or Clefairy). Prioritize getting Psychic Energy into the discard pile early with Ultra Ball or Earthen Vessel.
Key Synergies
Kirlia's Refinement draws 2 cards every turn while priming your discard pile for Psychic Embrace. Munkidori's Adrena-Brain moves the self-inflicted damage from Psychic Embrace directly onto the opponent's Pokémon.
